Mrs. Sheila Woods, Treasurer of the Cayman Islands Conference

Mrs. Sheila Woods serves as Treasurer for Cayman Islands Conference of Seventh-day Adventists, a position she has held since 2000.

Mrs. Woods graduated from Cayman Academy (formerly Edmer Seventh-day Adventist School) in 1973 and then from the Cayman Islands High School in 1979. From there, she left Grand Cayman to attend Northern Caribbean University (formerly West Indies College) to study Secretarial Science. In 2003, she graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Accounting from the International College of the Cayman Islands.

Mrs. Woods’ first appointment with the Mission was as a secretary in 1981. She later filled the post of Accountant for Cayman Islands Mission and Edmer SDA School during the years 1983-1989. In 1990, she was promoted to Chief Accountant and has served her duties faithfully.

Mrs. Woods has been an active member of the Bodden Town Seventh-day Adventist Church and has served as treasurer, church pianist, A.Y. Leader, Health & Temperance Director, Sabbath School Superintendent and Sabbath School Lower Division Leader, to name a few. She was elected to serve as the first ASI Secretary/Treasurer in 1999.

Mrs. Woods has enjoyed 26 years of formal service for the Seventh-day Adventist Church. She is the first child of Alvin & Evelee Powell. Apart from her busy schedule of activities and study, she is a devoted wife and mother. She is married to Mr. Joseph Woods, Jr., who is the Manager of Cruise Operations and Security for Port Authority of the Cayman Islands. They have three beautiful children, Kristy, Joseph III and Johnathan. She enjoys reading, cooking, baking, and gardening.
